Mission

“I use best practice standards coupled with popular open source technologies to deliver cost effective, high performance, usable and accessible web applications your customers will love to use. It’s a 100% money back guarantee!”

Technology

After much trial and error I’ve settled on a core set of open source technologies and best practice methodologies to ensure fast development with repeatable, high performance results.

  • LAMP

LAMP refers to a popular open source software stack used to run dynamic web sites.

    • Linux

      A free Unix-type operating system.

    • Apache

An open source web server that is able to run on a variety of operating systems.

    • MySQL

An open source RDBMS that uses SQL for storing, accessing, and processing data.

    • PHP

A popular server-side scripting language that allows web developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases.

  • WordPress

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

  • CakePHP

CakePHP is a rapid development framework for PHP that provides an extensible architecture for developing, maintaining, and deploying applications. Using commonly known design patterns like MVC and ORM within the convention over configuration paradigm, CakePHP reduces development costs and helps developers write less code.

  • Blueprint CSS

Blueprint is a CSS framework which features web browser resetting, grid layout and sensible typography base styles that enable the rapid development of stable, cross-browser web interfaces.

  • jQuery, Prototype & Scriptaculous

JavaScript frameworks provide an extensible base from which to build interactive components within web pages.

  • Design & Development Patterns

Patterns take the gamble out of project development by providing tested solutions to common design and development problems. As a result more time and effort can be spent on custom development.

  • Web Hosting

I provide hosting through a popular cluster-based hosting service powered by hundreds of servers working in tandem to power your websites, applications and email with unrivaled power, burstability and reliability.

Memberships & Associations

The Web Standards Group is for web designers & developers who are interested in web standards (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, XSLT etc.) and best practices (accessible sites using valid and semantically correct code).
